The Health and Well-being committee of Parteen GAA are launching a new initiative to help parents increase their own fitness.
It’s an 8 week couch to 5km being carried out at the side of the pitch whilst the children are training. All levels of fitness welcome. The program starts with a brisk 5min walk followed by 60secs of a run followed by 90secs of walking for 20mins. Those unable to run are welcome to walk. Each week the program gradually increases the amount of time alternating running with walking.
Exercise is good for the mind, body and soul so why not use the time spent waiting at the pitch to focus on your own fitness.
